2024 Ignite Capoeira Batizado Schedule

At this special event, students will be showcased, earn their first capoeira cord, and also have their capoeira nickname (apelido) given to them. This event is free and is included in membership.

While it seems far away (2 months from now!), we handmake each cord in a traditional method and ship them to students, and also pre-select the apelidos.

Keep your eyes open for an event registration form: you will need to fill out one form per participant, and include information like waist/hip measurement (for the belt), and some information about each participant to aid us in selecting an apelido each student will love.

We will go over the event traditions and process in detail the month prior in classes!  It will be a great, high energy event that rewards each student for their hard work.

(Batizado and Troca de Cordas translates literally to "Baptism and Changing of Cords".  There is no religious connotation to the event- the use of the word "batizado" is simply the traditional way of referring to the event when new students become "official" capoeira students by earning their nicknames.)
